We did fun, hands-on activities on Halloween day. We had a great time exploring pumpkins. The kids predicted whether a pumpkin would sink or float, weighed, measured, and counted seeds. We wondered whether it was true that pumpkins with more ridges have more seeds (that seemed to check out with our pumpkins!) Thank you to the Duitsman family for donating the pumpkins for our activity!
We had a super fun party day in second grade! We designed and engineered pumpkin towers in the morning. In the afternoon it was PARTY TIME! Thank you to Mrs. Silverberg, Mr. and Mrs. Renn, and Mrs. Hart for arranging an amazing party and the parents who came to help. You can definitely see how much fun the kiddos are having!
The second graders took a fun field trip to the apple orchard today. We sat in a big teepee and learned about the history of the farm, played on the playground, visited the petting zoo, took a hayride to the orchard to pick apples, and wrapped up our visit with apple cider donuts and cider. The weather was perfect, too!
Reading about the earth's layers and having fun at the PBIS assembly. Our Evelyn won the pencil balancing game in Minute to Win It! Isabella won VIP seating and Hayden won a VIP lunch with Ms. Dzik. Our class won second place for getting the most hallway Starbuck tickets. Way to go, 2A!!
